Hyams Beach is a secluded settlement
on the southern shores of Jervis Bay, about 2.5 hours drive from Sydney.
The village is surrounded by National and Marine Parks and the beach is
said to have "the whitest sand in the world"
The exceptionally clear waters of Jervis Bay are ideal for fishing,
swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving & kayaking. The surrounding bushland is home to
many native animals and an abundance of bird life. There are walking tracks
to suit all ages and levels of fitness, or bring your mountain bike and go for a spin down a trail.
The Hyams Beach General Store and Cafe provides most
of the immediate needs of the short term visitor, including groceries,
newspapers, delicatessen and liquor. The Cafe rates a mention in the Sydney
Morning Herald good Food Guide and "serves a wide range of interesting
food throughout the day".
Most accommodation in the village is in private houses.
These range from simple homes to architect designed luxury which can cater
to all tastes and budgets.
Hyams Beach is the perfect location for a quiet getaway
for couples or a traditional family beachside holiday.
